    Vernon Sveinson,  76 of South Elgin died Friday, June 27th.  Born January 5, 1938 in Chicago, he was the son of Haldor and Zelma (Rowe) Sveinson.

    He was an expert carpenter and a superintendent in the Carpenter’s Local Union for many years, and was a proud member of the Elgin Riverside Club for over 50 years.  Vernon was an avid sports enthusiast.  He was also a devoted and generous Uncle.

    Allen Joseph Schmalfeldt, 47, died at 12:20am on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Advocate Sherman Hospital. Allan was born to the parents of Gene and Josephine (Giglitto) Schmalfeldt. He was a longtime resident of Little Angel’s long term care facility. He will be greatly missed by family as well as all who knew him. Burial is private.

    Opher D. Campbell, 70 of Elgin died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Sherman Hospital.  The daughter of Henry and Olivia (Hudson) Campbell, she was born April 16, 1944 in Parkin, Arkansas.

    She was a member of Grace Community Ministries, and a past member of Bethesda COGIC, Elgin.  She loved her family, and was considered by all to the family chef.

    Patricia L. Meilahn, 70 of Streamwood died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Lexington Healthcare Center.    Born February 27, 1944, the daughter of Marcus and Doris-Jean (Smith) Meilahn in Chicago, IL.

    Patricia attended Valparaiso College, worked in Nursing Centers in Housekeeping, loved fishing and photography.

    She is preceded by her father, one brother-in-law, Ray Gignac.
